Who is it for?

The program is targeted to student athletes who practice sports at a competitive level, with experience in competitions.
Scholarships proposals received by the athletes are based on their sports skills as well as academic achievements. The better the player, the better the chance to get a good athletic scholarship.

When is the best time to start the process?

It is better if you start the process about 8 to 12 months before the date of travel. During this period the student athlete will have time to prepare for everything before entering in an American University.

When do student athletes travel to the United States?

Students Athletes often travel in January or in August.

What are the advantages of the program?

To be part of a varsity team in an American University is a remarkable experience, as the sport is highly valued in the US and schools spend annually a large sum by hiring high-level technical, investing in infrastructure for athletes and spreading the sport, which brings great prestige for the university. Because the environment is highly professional, the student will need discipline to combine studies with sports. The advantages to play sports and also work on a degree is a great chance to develop skills that the student will carry to his professional life after graduation.  

Scholarships

The scholarship amount depends on the technical level of the athlete in the sport practiced. Since the main objective of the program is to find the best option for the participant, the search is done by universities within range of the participant's financial condition, as well as a team where he can be one of the top athletes, and thus receive a higher scholarship. After making the technical evaluation of the athlete we will have an idea of how much the family will need to invest in the whole process.

Which Sports evaluation do I need?

The evaluation serves for the athletes in order to set the value of the scholarships. The tests are performed in São Paulo, and there is also the possibility to analyze videos submitted by athletes.

For athletes who seek an opportunity in these sports. You will need to get to us your videos so we can forward it to coaches. We are able to schedule days where you can be film practicing your sport.

Soccer Showcases -

In the evaluations athletes play 2 times 30 minutes in their position. Each evaluation will have 3 or 4 teams of athletes between 17 and 23 who are interested in studying in the US. The tests are filmed so that the football coordinator can use the videos to send to experts from American universities. Athletes are informed of test dates by e-mail two weeks prior to testing. The evaluation can also be done through a video sent by the athlete. This video must be recent (maximum 1 year) and a set of 11x11 field. Teams must be in uniform or vests with numbers. The tape should be edited already the best athlete moments in the game or shot games. The athlete should not send a tape of an entire game. It should already be sent with the best selected times.

Which expenses does a scholarship cover?

The full scholarships include all student expenses, such as tuition, room and board in addition to sports equipment for training, uniforms, trips to competitions and other expenses related to sport. What is the duration of a shcolarship?

The scholarship that students receive is renewed on a year basis. In some cases, when students need one more semester to complete their course, the coach can open an exception and extend the scholarship, but this depends solely on the athlete. There is a possibility of scholarship increase if the athlete's performance is above expectations. There have been several cases of athletes who had increased scholarship for playing well. There is also the risk of the scholarship be reduced or completely cut. It is never related due to poor performance, since the athlete is dedicated to engage in practices and games, do not miss average in college and relates well with peers. What is the annual cost for an athlete in an american university?

EducaSports' job is to find the best scholarship opportunity for each athlete depending on their technical level and preferences. Grants can vary from 40% to 100%, which means an annual cost in the US of up to US $ 15,000 already including annuity, food, housing (on campus or off campus), sports equipment and travel to competitions . Typically athletes can exchange where the costs are between US $ 13.00 and US $ 18.000 annually, and this depends exclusively on the technical level of the athlete and his performance in English exams. Can I work while I am studying?

How long it lasts to graduate?

The majority of the courses in American universities last four years, but you have exceptions. Some students, however, need 1 or 2 semesters and more to complete the course, others end in three years and a half, which is not very common.

What courses Can I take it?

The most common courses are Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Communication, Advertising, Physical Education, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Psychology and Political Science, as well as other options. The courses that are not possible to provide are law, engineering and medicine.

Where does a Student Athlete live?

There are two options. The first, and that usually happens to all students in the first and second year, is to live on campus, in the Residence Halls. These "apartments" have double rooms and are very well organized and clean. Athletes usually share the room with teammates in the first academic year. Students who live in these halls have their meals in the school restaurant, since the rooms have no kitchen. The second option is to live off campus, houses or rented apartments. This option can be cheaper since the apartments can be divided by more than 2 people, lowering costs, and students can prepare their own meals.

What english level should I have?

It is necessary to have a good english in order to take the English Tests (TOEFL and SAT) to be accepted into an American University. However, these tests are only comprehension, grammar and mathematics, which makes it much easier to prepare the students. A good test scores also lets you work with a larger number of schools (English levels required by schools vary). The SAT is also required by the NCAA and NAIA (university sports leagues) so that athletes can apply to be eligibility. The SAT consists of parts of interpretation of texts in English, grammar, writing and mathematics, where Brazilians generally do not find many difficulties, provided they are well prepared. There are 3 sections (Mathematics, Grammar and Writing). The total score of the test 2400 points. To calculate the final score of the SAT, the NCAA, NAIA and universities will add only the notes of mathematics and grammar and disregard the writing. You should do the writing normally, but it will not matter, since it will not be considered in the final sum of the grade. Ideally, you get at least 900 points in total, and can take a maximum of 2400 points. The score you need to take the test to be enrolled in the sports league will depend on their school average over the past 3 years of high school. When we start working with you, we will calculate your average grade. Athletes that over high school maintained an average 60% must draw approximately 950 points in the test. This score is quite feasible since the math part is not difficult and the athletes who prepare and can take between 500 and 600 points only in mathematics.
To prepare for the test you need to buy the official book of the SAT, as it contains explanations on the functioning of the test, several exercises and solved all theoretical content required by the test. You can search a test center on College Board's website. The SAT is not offered many times a year so it's very important that the preparation starts in advance. The TOEFL consists of interpreting texts sections, reding, understanding, listening and speaking in English. The TOEFL is required by universities to check whether the student has the English level needed to enter college. The required scores vary from school to school. The test is worth 120 points and the ideal score is 75. Some schools will accept scores at least 65 points. The TOEFL can be done in several cities, such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba and others. The TOEFL can be made one time per month. It is important to mention that the tests are not difficult, but it is necessary that the student get ready and be serious on preparing really well to take the tests. 

How Do I prepare to take the tests?

EducaSports is working with Virignia School Center. Virginia has been preparing students athletes since 2007. They know really well what students will need to be ready to take both tests. The school also offers classes via Skype.

What are the costs, places and dates of the tests?

The TOEFL test costs about $ 215 US dollars and can be done 1 time per month in Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Campinas, Porto Alegre, Florianopolis, Salvador and Curitiba. To register, simply call and make the desired date 2 weeks in advance. The SAT costs about $ 75.00 US dollars and can be done in Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Brasilia, Campinas, Curitiba and Porto Alegre. This test is not offered very often, so it is very important that students prepare well for it. The SAT is held in January, May, June, November and December. Registrations are made 45 days in advance.

What if do not get the required grade by Universities?

The tests can be taken as many times as you need. If the participant fails to get the necessary grade to travel, theys can join the group that will travel the following year. However, they might get a different situation in terms of scholarships and places.
